The Barnyard Buddies site is wonderful. With posters to color, games to play, and Circus Champion Books on line, this colorful site is a fun place to visit. Zoospell is a great spot for learning. Type in the name of the animal you are interested in and you will be shown a picture and a hotlink to a fact sheet. The National Wildlife Federation has a good kid’s page. Check it out. The US Fish and Wildlife service site includes a crossword puzzle, Risky Critters game, and articles about different animals.Kratts Creatures is a fun show on PBS. Their web site is fun, too. With the Creature of the Week, you may want to visit often. How to Love Your Dog is a wonderful site for kids that love dogs. "Kids Crazy About Horses" is a wonderful site for kids of all ages. Here you’ll find pen pals, coloring pages, basic riding information , stories and much, much more. Acme Pet is a great site. Lots of information is presented in an easy to follow format. This is a good site to visit frequently. Each day a question on pet care and behavior is answered, current animal news articles are listed, and there is even a "joke of the day" (some of the jokes are REALLY bad). The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has good information on the care of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, and gerbils. The Care2.com community provides you with the opportunity to participate in opinion polls, a global green event calendar, trivia quizzes, environmental non-profit action alerts and features, personal profiles, and environmental feature stories, and much more.The Dog Hause is a playground for pets and pet lovers. Lots of fun things going on at this site. Check out the animal humor page. The American Veterinary Medical Association provides an excellent page titled a Pet Owner’s Guide to Common Small Animal Poisons. HealthyPet is the web site for the American Animal Hospital Association. The pet care library has good information.
The National Alternative Pet Association has a lost/found, shelter and rescue group listing and a club listing. The Dane County Humane Society in Wisconsin has put together a good website. If you click on the "other" button, you will start with hamsters and then be able to find information on guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, birds, reptiles, hedgehogs, mice, rats, fish, tarantulas, pot-bellied pigs, chinchillas, and turtles. laughs, especially for the techie types. The American Kennel Club has been in existence since 1984. This is a must see site, even for those with a loveable mutt. The site includes some information on care and training, lots of articles on different subjects, a nice kids page designed for elementary students, and a complete listing of all AKC recognized breeds. The Purina website has lots of information, stories, games, and even "Jane’s Pet Care Column". Dog Fancy magazine has a breeder directory and breed profiles of over 200 breeds. This site also provides information on behavior and training, care, health, and nutrition. Do you ever worry that your dog might be bored? Dog Play lists many ideas on activities for your dog and things that other dogs do. With topics ranging from Frisbee to search and rescue dogs, this sight has it all. The Senior Dogs’ Project is an easy to navigate site with good information about older dogs. This is a MiningCo. article on housebreaking your dog. Danes-R-Us features four pet Great Danes as well as graphics, photos, and general fun concerning Great Danes.

Cat Furniture, Cat Climbing Trees, Cat Scratching Poles, If you are interested in the standards for all of the cat breeds as provided by both the Cat Fanciers Association and the International Cat Association, as well as articles on a wide variety of subjects, the Cat Fanciers Web Site would be a great resource. Cat Stuff has lots of cat graphics, stories, poetry, and cat care reference articles. The Cat Fanciers Association site includes information on cats shows, cat breeds, and cat care. Before you go to ANY informational sites, take a few minutes and check out Cat Howls. This site has some of the absolutely most hilarious poems, "top 10" lists, and articles you will ever find. Make sure you read the Cat Haiku before you leave. The CAT User’s Manual gives a good chuckle for techie-types. Everyone has an opportunity to "see" the museum exhibition entitled Cats! Wild to Mild. With the same name, this site is a great resource tool and very entertaining. Browse about on your own, but take the guided tour at some point… it is well worth the time. National Geographic is well known for their in-depth articles. Did you know they present their information on the web? "Cats – Plans for Perfection" describes the design of the cat. Cornell University’s Feline Health Center provides an excellent resource covering topics ranging from behavioral problems to gastrointestinal parasites. Resource for both cat rescue groups and the public who wish to either adopt a cat or aid with rescue. At the moment it is limited to rescue within Canada. Shannon Paints is a horse farm with painted saddle horses. Oklahoma State University has put together a site that provides information and pictures of the breeds of horses. Included are pictures and video clips. Very good site for studying the different breeds.
Northwind Arabians UC Davis’ Center for Equine Health provides good information as well as The Horse Report. The Worldwide Horsemen’s Directory has a huge listing of links. Horse Interactives Knowledge Bank covers a wide variety of topics and has a great glossary of equine terms. Here you will find everything from avian art to avian articles covering topics such as nutrition, housing, and breeding information. The Budgerigar Home Page has a good history of varieties and good care information. "Basic Bird Care Information & Tips" is designed in a very straight-forward way. The authors of the site warn you on each page that these are their suggestions and you should check with your veterinarian for information on your bird. Seems very reasonable to me. "Winged Wisdom", the pet bird ezine, provides several articles each month on topics ranging from care of wild birds to poetry and the male reproductive system to humor. "Caring for your Bird" gives good information in an easy to follow format. "Avian Health and Disease Prevention" is a well-organized listing of links to other sites and articles. Go get a cup of coffee, not because this one is slow to load, but because the site is so extensive. Melissa Kaplan’s Herp Care Collection has too much information to list here. Lizard Heaven has information including care sheets, health care issues, and rescue information. Frogland is a fun site. The background is busy, but kind of grows on you. Check out the stupid frog jokes while you are there. This is an extremely well organized site listing specific species of frogs with information about each one. The Herp Link is an extensive herpetology directory. You will find hundreds of care sheets here. Happy Herp Hunting. Ferret Central is not a pretty site, but here you will find an extensive listing of topics and links, including a good FAQ, information on care, bulletin boards, lists, clubs, and even has information in several different languages. The League for Independent Ferret Enthusiast site has a listing of clubs, show standards, and the Ferret Information Bank. Oinkernet comes complete with GPTV (that is Guinea Pig Television). A fun site. Seagull’s Guinea Pig Compendium has a brief introduction to the guinea pig, a care guide, and a collection of articles. "You know you’re a guinea pig slave when…" This page is full of chuckles. Gerbil.org is a very inclusive site that covers topics ranging from general information and feeding and care to a story about Snowflake the gerbil. This site is slow to load, but worth the wait. Blackstaff Rats is a good site that has comprehensive information on rat care. The American Fancy Rat and Mouse Association has a good website which has printable membership forms. Their latest addition is an section on orphan care. The National Alternative Pet Association has a good FAQ on domestic fancy rats. "Basic Hammy Stuff" has no time consuming graphics, just lots of basic information. The Hamster Fanciers of America site has a good hamster care guide. The Complete Hamster Site is a good site originating from the UK with comprehensive information on care, health, and equipment. Llamapaedia is a great site for beginners and experienced llama lovers. Written by veterinarians, it provides quality information in an easy to follow format. Llamaweb has a listing of llama farms, information on shows and events, and good basic information about llamas.
