Jesse
(Caution ! These are very graphic photos and if the site of blood upsets you, do not go further!)
Jesse came in with a terrible staff infection. After shaving her, I discovered it covered her entire back. The entire top of her back was a huge scab. Jesse was started on antibiotics and medicated baths and the infection responded. Sadly, the already infected skin started to die, pull away from her body and formed an eschar . When this large scab fell off, there was a gaping lesion that had to be corrected.

This is Jesse after I had closed most of the wound. The photos were to graphic to show the lesion completely open.

Jesse had to be sedated and the wound cleaned and closed, repeatedly. This is the second surgery.

This is the third surgery.

Jesse healed slowly but steadily. Here the wound is down to a small scab.

She will carry the scar for life, but she is well and happy!
